Skiathos is a tiny Greek isle with a big personality. It's home to some of the best beaches in the Aegean, including Troulos, a sleepy village with a sweeping bay and a cluster of Greek tavernas. But Skiathos Town is where the real action is. This whitewashed town on the south-east coast of the island is a favorite of celebrities like Kate Moss and Goldie Hawn. It's full of designer shopping, members-only bars, and gourmet restaurants, all fronted by two huge yacht harbours. Skiathos is also the original film location for Mamma Mia!, and is a great base for exploring the rest of Greece, with Skopelos, another Mamma Mia location, just an hour away by ferry, and Athens easily reachable by plane or boat.
