What should I pack for a holiday in Madeira in April?
Layers are essential, so shorts and tshirt during the day but during the evening you needed a light jacket/ jumper. I would recommend a rain coat even a packable one as showers are common this time of year

What's great about Madeira in April?
Mild weather in April was ideal for travel with young kids. April also wasn't high tourist season so there was little in the way of crowds. Don't miss the cable car and their unique way of getting back down the mountain. I would strongly urge exploring the Island, its small and easy to get around with amazing scenery. If you like walking and adventure holidays this can also be catered for. Maderia has a reputation of being for older retired people but this was not what we found. Between the weather, the fact there was lots to do, not very busy and so much to explore we would really recommend as a family destination.

What's the temperature like in Madeira during April?
The temperature is extremely stable in April with average highs of 17℃ and lows just 2℃ lower at 16℃. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
