What's the weather like in Barcelona in March?

Travel Vixta The weather in Barcelona in March is usually a few degrees warmer than the UK which can make quite a difference on a warm, sunny day. We were surprised at how warm it was when the sun was out and my partner even had a slightly sunburnt nose as we hadn’t thought to pack sun cream at this time of year! If you’re used to the cold English winter, then your skin won’t be acclimatised to the sudden warm Mediterranean sun, even if it’s only spring heat. However, when the cloud cover came we were pretty cold. There’s a photo of me on a beach with a cardigan and leggings on and I am tensed up, bracing the cold as it was much cooler than the sunny days. Answered by Travel Vixta

What should I pack for a holiday in Barcelona in March?

Travel Vixta Because the temperature is unpredictable, depending on whether there is wind or cloud cover, you’ll need to pack a spring wardrobe. Summer clothes for the sunny, warm days are appropriate, but you’ll need extra layers if it’s cloudy, wet or windy as the difference in temperature on these days makes it feel cold. While I did take summer clothes with me, I also took cardigans and leggings to pop on if I felt cold. Light layers like these can easily be packed in a day bag to put on if needed, or taken off if the sun comes out! My partner mostly wore three-quarter length cargo pants and had long sleeve t-shirts and short sleeved which he could double up if needed. Answered by Travel Vixta

What's great about Barcelona in March?

Travel Vixta As a city break, for exploring the sights, March is a great time to visit Barcelona. While it was busy when we visited, I can only imagine it would be a lot busier in the popular summer months. We felt the beach and sights were busy enough in spring, the beach in particular in Barcelona was pretty packed, so if you’re not a fan of crowds then definitely go in spring and avoid summer as Barcelona is a busy place! The spring temperatures made it perfect for exploring the sights on foot, or using public transport, without getting hot and bothered. It was also a nice surprise to have sunny days and to start enjoying some warmer weather ahead of the UK weather warming up. Answered by Travel Vixta

What's the temperature like in Barcelona during March?

The temperature reaches around 16℃ during the daytime in March, falling away to 10℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Does it rain in Barcelona during March?

On average, there will be 4 rainy days during the month, amounting to 79.2mm in total. That's broadly comparable with the amount of rain we see in England during the summer months, and would be considered dry. There's a small chance that you'll catch a thunderstorm during your trip.

Is it windy in Barcelona during March?
