Located off the coast of the Preveza region on the west coast of the Greek mainland, Lefkas is an under-the-radar island that still looks the same as it did 100 years ago. With its pristine, footprint-free beaches, it's the perfect destination for a peaceful retreat. The main resorts of Lefkas are situated along its east coast. Nidri is the largest, and it's a former fishing village that has been transformed into a vibrant destination. Here, you'll find a mix of traditional fish tavernas and family-friendly cafes, restaurants and bars. Nikiana, located 7 miles north, is a smaller version of Nidri. Meanwhile, the west coast of the island is still relatively untouched, with Agios Ioannis on the northwest tip being the most developed. When it comes to activities, Lefkas has plenty to offer. From hiking in the island's interior and exploring its waterfalls, pine forests and mountain peaks, to island-hopping around its 10 satellite islands, there's something for everyone.
